A stake ceiling is different from a cashout ceiling
A maximum stake limits the amount of an individual eligible action while a condition applies. A maximum cashout limits funds at a later stage. One governs a transaction; the other governs release or payment. Neither number can be used to infer the other.
The relevant clause needs to identify the unit: a spin, a round, a hand, a combined action or another transaction. A percentage-based limit also needs a named reference amount. Wording that only says maximum €5 leaves important questions if a feature adds several charges.
Stake limits in practice
Per spin or per round
A maximum stake usually applies to each spin or round while a bonus is active, not to a session total.
Features that raise the cost
Ante bets, bonus buys and side bets can increase the real stake above the base bet shown on screen.
Check before you change the bet
Look at the total cost per spin in the game before raising the bet while a bonus balance is in play.
The displayed base stake may not be the total cost
A game may show a base stake separately from additional features. A hypothetical €1 base action with a €2 extra charge has a €3 total cost. Whether the terms treat it as one €3 action or apply another definition must be stated. A feature purchase can also have a separate price and a separate restriction.
A game interface accepting an action does not establish that the action complies with a promotional rule. Technical availability and contractual eligibility describe different things. An unclear unit should be resolved from the applicable clause and the transaction record.
Cancellation needs a balance-by-balance explanation
Cancelling a bonus may remove unused bonus credit and associated restricted winnings, but the exact treatment depends on the applicable terms and law. A confirmation should distinguish deposited funds, unrestricted winnings, restricted winnings and pending rounds. A single total does not show what would remain.
Before confirming an irreversible cancellation, the useful information is the amount removed from each wallet and the amount remaining. Once a cancellation is recorded, its reference and timestamp help explain later balance movements. The possibility of restoring a cancelled bonus should not be assumed.
If a restriction is cited in a dispute
A clear explanation identifies the clause, the version of the terms, the transaction, the stake calculation and the affected amount. A generic reference to bonus abuse does not explain those facts. Preserve the record and use the operator's published complaint process if the explanation remains inconsistent.
This is a framework for understanding the records, not a determination that a particular clause or forfeiture is legally valid. That assessment depends on the applicable rules and the facts of the case.
Questions and answers
Are excluded games and zero-contribution games the same?
Not necessarily. Zero contribution describes counter progress. Exclusion describes whether an action is permitted under the condition.
Can a bonus be cancelled without losing anything?
There is no universal answer. The confirmation and terms need to identify the effect on each balance, including restricted winnings.
