Revolut and online casinos: cards, transfers and the gambling block

Revolut is an app-based account with a debit card. At a casino you pay with the Revolut card or by bank transfer – and the app has a built-in gambling block.

Paying with Revolut

Most casino payments from Revolut are ordinary card payments with the Revolut card, confirmed in the app. Some cashiers also accept bank transfers, which are sent from your Revolut account details.

Revolut holds several currencies. Paying in the currency the casino uses avoids an extra conversion.

Revolut's gambling block

In the app you can switch on a gambling block under Security and Payments. It stops card payments that Revolut identifies as gambling. Turning it on is immediate; Revolut says turning it off takes up to 48 hours.

The block is based on merchant category codes, so it covers card payments but not bank transfers or payments routed through other apps.

Using the block as a limit

Why the delay matters

A waiting time before a block can be lifted gives you a pause to think, which is the point of the feature.

Combine it with other tools

Because transfers are not covered, combine the card block with deposit limits at the casino or national self-exclusion if you want a stronger barrier.

Where to find help

Our responsible gambling section explains blocking tools and where to get confidential support in each Nordic country.

Withdrawals

Winnings can be paid to your Revolut account by bank transfer, or back to the card where the casino supports card payouts. The name on the casino account and the Revolut account should match.

Questions and answers

Does the Revolut gambling block stop bank transfers?

No. Revolut says it applies to card payments identified as gambling, not to bank transfers or third-party apps.

Can I deposit in euros from a Revolut account in another currency?

Yes, Revolut converts the amount; check the exchange terms of your plan in the app.
