A deadline can refer to different events
The period for claiming an offer, the period for using spins and the period for completing a wagering requirement may be separate. The same number of days does not necessarily mean the same expiry time. One clock may start when an offer is activated, while another starts after a particular event.
Duration is only part of the information
A clear deadline has a duration, a starting event and a time zone. The phrase “seven days” alone does not identify all three. A date displayed in an account and a general description of an offer may refer to different stages. Missing or conflicting details remain unclear until the applicable terms resolve them.
Turn a duration into an exact timestamp
A period of 48 hours beginning at 14:00 UTC on 1 March ends at 14:00 UTC on 3 March. A calendar-day rule could produce a different result. This is why a duration alone is incomplete: its starting event and the method of counting time are part of the condition.
A local clock can change for daylight saving while UTC does not. An account timer, a promotional email and a screenshot can therefore show different clock times for the same instant. Record the time zone alongside the date instead of comparing the numbers in isolation.
Converting a deadline to your own time
Find the reference time zone
Terms often state deadlines in UTC or in the operator's local time. Note which one applies before you calculate anything.
Count from the right event
A period may start when the bonus is credited, when you activate it or when you make a deposit. Use the event the terms name.
Write the result down
Convert the end point to your own date and time and save it, together with a screenshot of the terms you used.
Three clocks, three possible consequences
A later stage does not automatically extend an earlier one. The consequences of expiry also need separate wording: unused spins, restricted winnings and deposited funds are different categories. Do not infer that all balances are treated alike.
| Stage | Possible starting event | What may expire |
|---|---|---|
| Claim | Offer becomes available | Ability to activate |
| Use | Spins are credited | Unused spins |
| Wagering | Winnings are credited | Restricted balance |
When a timer and the written terms disagree
Keep the offer identifier, activation time, written deadline and a screenshot of the counter. Ask which event started the clock and whether pending game rounds count before or after settlement. A support response should identify the relevant clause; a generic statement that the bonus lasts seven days does not resolve the discrepancy.
Questions and answers
Does opening a support ticket pause a deadline?
There is no universal rule that it does. A pause or extension must be confirmed for the particular case; merely contacting support does not establish a new expiry time.
